In November, Capstone Real Estate Professionals’ Michael Christie, Team Lead & Sales Representative, and Lynn Weller, Sales Representative, participated in the Ecuador Challenge for Shelter Trek. This bi-annual trek, organized by the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, takes place in various locations, including the Purcell Mountains and the Sahara Desert, with this year’s trek located in the Andes Mountains.

For five days, Michael and Lynn journeyed through various terrains and unpredictable mountain weather as they made their way to the base of Mt. Cotopaxi, one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. During the high-altitude adventure, they camped in tents, went without cell service, and gave up many comforts of home.

The trek raised an impressive 1.7 million dollars for local women’s shelters and domestic violence. With the help of many generous donors and supporters, Capstone Real Estate Professionals successfully raised $60,681.91 for Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis and the Royal Lepage Shelter Foundation. Michael, Lynn, and the rest of the Capstone REPS team would like to express sincere gratitude to everyone who donated and supported the fundraising efforts. The contributions will make a significant and positive difference in the lives of brave women and children in the community who seek refuge and aspire to live a life free from abuse.
